With the Bettadakhan, farmer Jakob Mammen from the Badra Estates impressively demonstrates that India not only produces high-quality Canephoras but also top-class, carefully processed Arabicas. The Badra Estates are among the most renowned farms in India and are known for sustainable cultivation, precise processing, and an exceptional variety of varieties. This coffee comes from the Bettadakhan plot and is based on the SLN 9 (Selection 9) variety – a cross between Híbrido de Timor and traditional Indian Arabica lines. The Bettadakhan is fully washed processed, which brings out its spicy-clear profile even more precisely. The robust body carries flavors of cardamom, orange, and almond, giving the coffee a characterful, complex structure.
