About This Coffee

Gaitania is a picturesque village in the municipality of Planadas in the Tolima department. Located on fertile volcanic soils and surrounded by majestic mountains, the climate here is fresh and ideal for the cultivation of exceptionally high-quality coffees. In Tolima, our importer works closely with local coffee organizations and farmers who place great emphasis on quality and sustainable farming methods. One of our most important partners is the indigenous Nasa Wesx community, which is organized through the cooperatives in Gaitania. With their commitment to quality and environmental protection, they have even achieved organic certification for part of their coffees. This roast is processed using the elaborate washed method: First, the coffee cherries are hand-selected to process only the best fruits. This is followed by depulping and thorough washing, in which the fruit pulp is completely removed. Finally, the beans are dried on raised drying beds - until they have reached the perfect balance of moisture. The result is a coffee that reflects the history, care and nature of Tolima in every cup.
