Ethiopia Sidamo Shuzha Mikan Natural G1
About This Coffee
This coffee comes from a processing station that won 2nd and 3rd place in the 2020 CoE and another award in 2021. Grown near the critical altitude for frost damage, it thrives resiliently. This batch is processed at the Sidamo Arbegona Romudamo village station, situated at an elevation of 2,300masl! The berries are sourced from smallholder farmers living and cultivating at altitudes ranging from 2,200 to 2,400masl. During harvest season, ripe coffee cherries are delivered to this station for processing. The beans produced here are dense and small (primarily concentrated in the 14/16 mesh size), reflecting the slow growth and tight texture typical of high-altitude cultivation. This station produces both washed and natural coffees. The Natural G1 is made from carefully selected ripe berries, which are floated to remove defects and then dried on African beds for 14 to 18 days before hulling and packaging. The beans are then transported to the capital for final dry processing and sorting.
