Hacienda La Esmeralda - Trapiche 2 AFB Gesha Washed

About This Coffee

We carefully selected these two beautiful lots (Trapiche 2AFB and Lino 4FB) at the farm during our trip to Panama. Both lots beautifully express the unique character of Esmerada’s profiles, intensely floral, remarkably elegant, and refined. The Peterson family, through their farm Hacienda La Esmeralda, has been instrumental in shaping the global reputation of Panama’s Gesha coffee. In 2004, they won the Best of Panama competition with their exceptional Gesha coffee, a variety that was previously unknown in the region. This lot was harvested on December 23rd, 2025 from the Trapiche lot located in Hacienda La Esmeralda’s Cañas Verdes farm. After harvest, the coffee cherries were fermented for 4 days in a stainless steel anaerobic tank in a cold fermentation room. Then, this microlot was slow dried on raised beds for 10 days.
