This lot from Finca El Matasono, one of Samuel Barrios' two farms is incredible. It totally fits the bill and delivers incredible quality and great Central American character. Frequently, single origin lots from Guatemala are nutty and slightly under ripe tasting. Often this get characterised as 'chocolatey' or 'hazelnut', but there are coffees from Guatemala that are full of rich fruit character and sweetness. We loved the stone fruit profile of this cup and the roundness of the brown sugar finish.
