Our latest release from Burundi, Mutambu, opens with rich dark chocolate notes that feel deep and slightly bittersweet, giving the cup a smooth and indulgent base. Bright dried cherry comes through alongside it, adding a sweet but gently tart lift that keeps everything lively and balanced. The fruit feels more like concentrated cherry jam than fresh fruit, bringing a rounded sweetness to the profile. As it cools, a creamy vanilla custard note begins to show, softening the darker chocolate tones and tying the fruit and sweetness together. This adds to the coffee’s full, heavy body, which feels smooth and satisfying on the palate. The finish is long and comforting, with lingering cocoa, a touch of cherry sweetness, and a silky mouthfeel that stays with you.
