About This Coffee

EL TREBOL is our decaffeinated Specialty Coffee from Colombia – full-flavored, socially engaged, and crafted excellently. It comes from the Women Association El Trebol in the Santander region. The association unites 74 women-led farms. The women take on all tasks – from picking to administration – and secure their families' livelihoods through coffee cultivation. The project's goal is to sell coffee above market price and create fair conditions. This coffee is decaffeinated using the Sugar Cane E.A. method – a natural and particularly gentle process. The beans are first prepared with steam, then freed of caffeine in a bath of sugarcane ethyl acetate, and finally dried again. This preserves the fine aromas almost entirely. In the cup, you can expect notes of chocolate cookie, sugarcane, and blackberry. The body is medium, the mouthfeel pleasantly soft. A fine acidity and pronounced sweetness make this decaf a true experience – pure, as espresso, or with milk and oat drink.
