About This Coffee

EL TREBOL is a decaffeinated coffee from Colombia – and a true Specialty Coffee highlight. The coffee comes from the Women Association El Trebol in the Santander region. In this association, 74 women work on their own farms, mostly as pickers and administrators. Coffee cultivation is essential for them – through the cooperative, they gain access to better prices, fair conditions, and long-term prospects. The coffee is decaffeinated using the Sugar Cane E.A. method – a natural, gentle method where caffeine is removed using sugarcane ethyl acetate. The beans are first prepared with steam, then gently dried after extraction. This method preserves the fine aromas of the coffee particularly well. In the cup, you’ll find notes of chocolate cookie, sugarcane, and blackberry. The body is medium, the profile pleasantly sweet with a subtle, balanced acidity.
