About This Coffee

We are very excited to present you with the Los Nogales Low Caffeine Typica, an extraordinary filter coffee. This special lot was produced by Angie and Oscar Hernandez at the renowned Finca Los Nogales in Huila, Colombia. The coffee plants grow there at about 1,750 meters above sea level. This coffee is a naturally decaffeinated Typica. After selective harvesting, the cherries are first fermented and then washed. Decaffeination is done particularly gently using a natural extract from coffee cherries, preserving the original aroma profile as much as possible. But please note: This coffee has more caffeine than a regular decaf. Hence the name Low Caffeine. The result is an incredibly clear, elegant, and fruity filter coffee with wonderful floral aromatics and very juicy acidity. We taste cherry, hibiscus, tangerine, cocoa, black tea, and floral notes. The coffee convinces with a silky mouthfeel, light body, and a very clear, lively acidity. We find the combination of floral notes, citrus freshness, and the unusual transparency and complexity for a low-caffeine coffee particularly exciting.
