About This Coffee

This is the first harvest of the season from Gildardo and Yolanda Lopez. We have been working with their coffee for many years now, and each year we look forward to tasting through their lots. In the cup we find dark honey, strawberry, and lime zest. Gildardo and his wife, Yolanda, produce coffee with their four children on their farm at the western edge of Huila, near the border with Cauca. Year after year, their coffees stand out in regional competitions, setting a high standard for quality in the region. We have had the privilege of working with the López family for many years, and it remains an honor to continue sharing their exceptional coffee. Pink Bourbon is a relatively new variety being grown primarily in and around Huila, Colombia. The variety has been identified genetically as an Ethiopian Landrace, but unfortunately, we cannot be any more specific as to its origins until there is a larger genetic database.
