About This Coffee

This is our second year purchasing coffee from the renowned Ibonia Estate in Kiambu. Kenya remains something of a mystery as we try to track profiles around all the regions surrounding Mt. Kenya. Kiambu has traditionally been one of our favorites. This fun new selection tastes of hibiscus, blackcurrant, and rosehips. We have long been drawn to coffees from the Kiambu region in central Kenya. Given its proximity to Nairobi, however, it is becoming increasingly difficult to sustain coffee production as land is gradually converted for development. Despite the many challenges of sourcing from Kenya, the country continues to produce some of our favorite profiles in all of coffee.
