About This Coffee

This is our first year purchasing coffee from Nayith Morales, who has a very small Pink Bourbon garden, less than a hectare (~2.5 acres), in one of our favorite regions in Huila. In the cup we find strawberry preserves, lemonade, and sugar cane. This is our first year purchasing coffee from Nayith, whom we were introduced to through our project in southern Huila. Despite having an extremely small garden of Pink Bourbon—less than a hectare (~2.5 acres) in size—the quality was exceptional. We look forward to visiting this farm on our next trip to Huila. Pink Bourbon is a relatively new variety being grown primarily in and around Huila, Colombia. The variety has been identified genetically as an Ethiopian Landrace, but unfortunately, we cannot be any more specific as to its origins until there is a larger genetic database.
