About This Coffee

Ricardo remains the only producer we work with in Algeciras, Huila. While we have purchased his Gesha in the past, this year we selected a Pink Bourbon separation. In the cup we find softer stone fruits, plum, hibiscus, and rosewater. Ricardo Silva comes from Algeciras, a region in Huila that is entirely new to us. Discovering a previously untapped coffee-growing area is always exciting, serving as a reminder that there are still so many producers with extraordinary potential waiting to be found. We look forward to seeing more coffee from Algeciras in the future. Pink Bourbon is a relatively new variety being grown primarily in and around Huila, Colombia. The variety has been identified genetically as an Ethiopian Landrace, but unfortunately, we cannot be any more specific as to its origins until there is a larger genetic database.
