About This Coffee

Second-generation coffee farmer Mario Fernando Gómez manages Finca La Floresta in Acevedo, Huila region, Colombia. Family has grown coffee since 1960s. Farm features diverse local and exotic coffee varieties. Five years ago, family planted new varieties including Striped Bourbon, a natural Pink Bourbon mutation with light stripes on coffee cherries. This is the first direct export of this variety from La Floresta. Farm practices sustainable methods: composting for soil fertility, water conservation, shade-grown coffee protecting biodiversity and preventing soil erosion. Mario actively supports local community initiatives including education and health programs for farming families.
