About This Coffee

Turihamwe is grown and processed by a women-led collective in northern Burundi. In 2019, seven producers pooled their JNP Coffee premiums to build the country’s first washing station fully owned by women, giving them direct control over quality and pricing for the first time. Cherries are hand-picked at peak ripeness and fully washed using local spring water. The cup is bright and composed, with gentle sweetness and clear acidity. It’s a confident coffee from a team shaping their future in specialty. You taste the care, but also the control. This is what happens when producers lead the process, not just supply it. - Alexandra Pantea - Senior Head Barista, Marylebone
