Special Roast #4 - Lalesa - Ethiopia
About This Coffee
blooming special roast number four! At an altitude of 2200 meters, right in the hills of Gedeb, lies the Lalesa processing station - owned by Ephtah since 2023 and a central location for high-quality coffee production. Ephtah is strongly committed to promoting women and supports them through various initiatives such as educational programs, financial training, financing opportunities, and strengthening female leaders within the coffee community. The local coffee farmers mainly grow traditional heirloom varieties that thrive at altitudes between 2150 and 2200 meters in Lalesa and Gedeb. Only ripe cherries are harvested. Upon arrival at the processing station, they are carefully sorted, with immature, overripe or damaged cherries consistently removed to ensure the highest quality. The selected coffee cherries then rest for a day on raised beds to allow the sugar content to develop optimally. They are then depulped and dried for 18 to 20 days on covered drying beds.
