Our seasonal projects use fresh crops of specialty grade beans and may be a blend or single bean depending on the season’s produce. “City Blend – Seasonal Project” is our hunt for the elusive “unicorn” that is a magnificent all-rounder. Balanced and sweet enough for a nube, layered and complex enough for a connoisseur, City Blend delivers in every brewing method. City Blend adds the melody that keeps you in step. This season we are putting Rwandans in the front lineup. In equal portions. First up, we have a washed red bourbon from the Muzo washing station. Gakenke, in the Northern Region. 1,570 to 2,200masl. We are getting crisp apple, melon and a lot of bright clean florals, with a soft cacao finish from this coffee. Adding some deep,bright and fruity notes we have Akagera Natural – Red Bourbon Coffee at the edge of Lake Kivu and Nyungwe Natural Forest, is the Karambi washing station, named after the nearby village and surrounding sector. Washed red bourbon varietal naturally processed. Has excellent stone fruit, cherry and dark berries, honey and toffee notes. The Guatemalan bean adds a balanced, grounded but still juicy element to the blend. All in all, this is a versatile, delicious espresso, that is bright,juicy and complex as well as a nuanced and sweet milk based coffee. A lot to offer at a lot of different extraction profiles
