About This Coffee

Community-minded coffee producer Marvin Carias has a continued desire for improvement through organic and sustainable farming methods. Marvin purchased his first parcel of land in 1990 and expanded his holdings as the business grew. Over time, he improved farm practices, replanted older trees, and implemented shade management. Now, he operates a wet mill focused on sustainable water usage. His system includes eight wastewater ponds, where treated water emerges clean and is recirculated to reduce water use. Coffee is depulped, fermented for 12 hours, washed, and sun-dried. Marvin also mills cherries from neighbours, supporting the community with better roads, schools, and clinics as the local coffee economy thrives.
