About This Coffee
Grown at an extreme altitude of 2,700 MASL in the remote highlands of Nariño, Colombia, by Emerson Felipe Narváez Díaz, this lot undergoes a traditional washed process. The coffee cherries are sun-dried on raised beds after an initial 72-hour fermentation, resulting in a vibrant flavour profile with notes of raspberry, lime, and toffee. The varietal is a unique hybrid we haven't seen before. It originates from traditional Caturra, but taking inspiration from the wine world, Turpial has grafted Gesha onto this root stock. The result is a coffee with the strong roots, resilience, and yields of Caturra, yet the cup quality akin to Gesha—an innovative and exciting development.
