In Espindola, Ecuador, Manuel Efren Jiminez tends to his farm, La Cascarilla. Shifting from commodity to specialty coffee 12 years ago, Manuel's dedication to processing and fermentation has enhanced both the quality of his coffee and his family's livelihoods, earning premiums for exceptional microlots. Embracing sustainability, Manuel implements regenerative practices such as tree conservation, cover crops and beekeeping. Our first ever (!) Ecuadorian offering, La Cascarilla embodies the spirit of passion and quality we value at Kiss the Hippo, with a classic Washed processing method leading to sweet cherry and pineapple notes with a delicate black tea finish.
