About This Coffee
Las Etiopes, nestled in the mountains of Jaén within the village of El Porvenir, is the brainchild of UK expatriate Simon Brown and his wife Merlith Cruz. Spanning eight hectares, this farm comprises a diverse landscape, with one hectare dedicated to the cultivation of Ethiopian Heirlooms and Geisha, while another hectare is planted with traditional varieties like Borbón, Caturra, and Catimor. Simon began his venture in 2019, driven by the promise he observed in the region's terroir during numerous harvest seasons spent in Jaén. This lot is a beautiful example of a classic Washed Caturra. The sweetness reminds us of black wine gums with a gentle apple acidity, rounded out by classic chocolate and nutty flavours.
