About This Coffee
The Vunga Cooperative is a women-led cooperative founded in March 2009. It is led by Daphrose Uwimana and has 260 members (women and men). The Vunga Cooperative is located in the Nyabihu district in the northwestern region of Rwanda. The station is hidden between the steep hills of Nyabihu and thousands of banana plants. The water used in Vunga comes from a natural spring in the nearby, famous Virunga National Park (home to the majestic mountain gorillas).
