About This Coffee

The Vunga Cooperative is a women-led cooperative founded in March 2009. It is led by Daphrose Uwimana and has 260 members (women and men). The Vunga Cooperative is located in the Nyabihu district in the northwestern region of Rwanda. The station is hidden between the steep hills of Nyabihu and thousands of banana plants. The water used in Vunga comes from a natural spring in the nearby, famous Virunga National Park (home to the majestic mountain gorillas).

Description: Die Vunga-Kooperative ist eine von Frauen geführte Genossenschaft, die im März 2009 gegründet wurde. Sie wird von Daphrose Uwimana geleitet und zählt 260 Mitglieder (Frauen und Männer). Die Vunga-Kooperative befindet sich im Distrikt Nyabihu in der Nordwestregion Ruandas. Die Station liegt versteckt zwischen den steilen Hügeln von Nyabihu und Tausenden von Bananenstauden. Das in Vunga verwendete Wasser stammt aus einer natürlichen Quelle im nahegelegenen, berühmten Virunga-Nationalpark (Heimat der majestätischen Berggorillas).
