About This Coffee

The Vunga Cooperative is a women-led cooperative that was founded in March 2009. It is led by Daphrose Uwimana and has 260 members (women and men). The station is hidden between the steep hills of Nyabihu and thousands of banana plants. The water used in Vunga comes from a natural spring in the nearby, famous Virunga National Park (home to the majestic mountain gorillas). Vunga was able to place twice in the Rwanda Cup of Excellence in 2012 and 2014.
