About This Coffee

Kibingo washing station is located in the Kayanza commune in northern Burundi and sits at an altitude of 1893 masl, with contributing farms reaching up to 1900 masl. This high elevation and cool climate allow cherries to ripen slowly, resulting in denser beans with more intense sweetness and acidity. Kibingo serves over 1,700 registered growers across 18 hills. Producers are organised into groups of 30, each led by a farm leader who helps coordinate communication and quality with the station team. The station is well-equipped with 10 fermentation tanks, 2 soaking tanks, and 165 raised drying beds. It has the capacity to process 750,000 kg of cherry per day during peak season — ensuring efficiency without compromising quality. Beyond processing, Kibingo is deeply involved in farmer support, from livestock programs to Farmer Hub initiatives that improve cooperative structure, yield, and long-term sustainability. Kibingo is a perfect example of Burundi’s growing excellence in specialty coffee — structured, vibrant, and rich with both flavour and impact. We’re proud to roast this for espresso and hope you enjoy it in every shot.
