In 2018, Clearpath Coffee launched the El Puente Project and built a processing station in Palestina, Huila. The goal is to connect local small farmers with the global specialty coffee market. The strategically favorable location amid numerous coffee farms simplifies the transport of coffee cherries. The initiative supports 214 small farmers by purchasing freshly harvested cherries, providing drying and storage infrastructure, paying prices equivalent to those of dried coffee, processing the coffee, and connecting farmers with buyers worldwide. Clearpath emphasizes sustainability and prefers natural and honey processing methods, which use 80% less water than washed coffees.
