About This Coffee
Our next release is a returning coffee from an inspiring initiative in Burundi; longmiles coffee through our partner osito. If you are interested in sound sourcing check out their website. The lot we sourced is from the Heza Washing Station. It’s a beautiful coffee that has everything a classic Burundi needs. Burundi has always been one of our favorite origins, the tea-like characteristics together with the silky mouthfeel make for a truly enjoyable experience. Heza means ‘beautiful place’ in Kirundi, the local language of Burundi. With panoramic views and an ever-changing sky, this washing station lives up to its name. The fantastic conditions in the Kayanza Province and the amount of ripe, dense cherries brought to the station to pioneering a sundried natural coffee initiative. Heza is also home to Burundi’s first honey processed coffees. The exceptionally high altitude, moderate climate and close proximity to the Kibira -Burundi’s only indigenous rainforest- bring out the best in the coffee, both growing on the trees and being produced at the washing station. The individual micro-climates of each hill combined with the station’s ideal conditions guarantee unique and exquisite notes in every cup.
