The Chalatenango region is home to artisans, painters, and artists. The picturesque town of La Palma boasts breathtaking natural landscapes and perfect weather. Most impressively, it is famous for its colorful murals, which align with the region's artisanal style. La Palma's artisans create and decorate handicrafts with vibrant colors, which become decorative elements of this beautiful town. They use various fabrics worn by locals in their creations. El Mural originates from two main regions: Citala and La Palma. Both areas are located within the Montecristo Trifinio National Park, managed jointly by El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. In 2011, the region was designated a biosphere reserve, boasting incredibly rich biodiversity.
