About This Coffee
Finally, the new harvest from our friends, the sisters Francine and Immaculate, is here! This is – in our opinion – the most value-for-money coffee available; the quality that the sisters consistently deliver to us is usually only found in more expensive microlots. If you haven’t tried this amazing coffee, we highly recommend it. We at Gringo have an extra special relationship with Nyamurinda and the place and people behind it; it’s a unique story. Even before we started Gringo, Johan, Pernilla, and Petter (3/4 of the Ekfeldt family) went to Rwanda and met Francine and Immaculate and their families, who run the washing station (that’s what it’s called in Rwanda, where families from the surrounding hills bring their coffee harvest to have the beans processed there). The sisters were the only two of eight siblings who survived the genocide in Rwanda and have since worked successfully, devotedly, and meticulously to grow and refine coffee, and they also run, for example, a school. Their coffee was the first to come to Gringo, and our collaboration and relationship continue; we keep visiting them, and their coffee continues to maintain such high quality and be so delicious. They are fantastic to work with. The sisters actively support female family farmers in the region and have also ensured that all key positions at the washing station are held by women. The coffee is not organically certified, but all coffee is shade-grown, and neither artificial fertilizers nor pesticides are used, so by definition, we dare say this is organically grown coffee. Rwanda Nyamurinda is characterized by apricot fruitiness, creaminess, and mild balance.

- Äntligen är den nya skörden från våra kompisar systrarna Francine och Immaculate här! Detta är - i vår mening - det mest prisvärda kaffe som går att uppbringa; den kvalitet som systrarna konsekvent levererar till oss hittar vi vanligtvis bara i dyrare mikrolotter. Om ni inte har provat detta fantastiska kaffe, så rekommenderar vi det varmt. Vi på Gringo har en extra speciell relation till just Nyamurinda och den platsen och människorna bakom, det är en säregen berättelse. Redan innan vi startade Gringo var Johan, Pernilla och Petter (3/4 av familjen Ekfeldt) till Rwanda och träffade Francine och Immaculate och deras familjer, som driver tvättstationen (det heter så i Rwanda, familjer från kullarna runt om kommer dit med sin kaffeskörd för att sedan få bönorna processade där). Systrarna var de enda två av åtta syskon som överlevde folkmordet i Rwanda och arbetar därefter framgångsrikt, hängivet och noggrant med att odla och förädla kaffe och de driver även till exempel en skola. Deras kaffe var det första som kom till Gringo och vårt samarbete och relation fortsätter, vi fortsätter besöka dem och deras kaffe fortsätter att hålla så hög kvalitet och vara så gott . De är fantastiska att arbeta med.. Systrarna stödjer aktivt kvinnliga familjeodlare i regionen och har även sett till att alla viktiga positioner på tvättstationen innehas av kvinnor. Kaffet är inte ekologiskt certifierat, men allt kaffe täckodlas och varken konstgödsel eller pesticider används, så per definition vågar vi säga att detta är ett ekologiskt odlat kaffe. Rwanda Nyamurinda är till karaktären aprikosfruktigt, krämigt och milt balanserat.
