About This Coffee

Hacienda La Claudina is located in Ciudad Bolívar, a traditional Colombian coffee town about 100 km southwest of Medellín. From there, you have a spectacular view of the Los Farallones del Citara mountain range, which reaches heights of up to 3,900 m. The Colombian Castillo variety, which has proven to be very resistant to numerous plant diseases, is grown there. In addition, there are various micro lots on the hacienda, with different processing methods such as honey process and also unwashed natural processed green coffee. Around 60 farm workers are engaged in picking the coffee cherries during the harvest season.

Description: Die Hacienda La Claudina liegt in Ciudad Bolívar, in einer traditionellen kolumbianischen Kaffee-Stadt etwa 100 km südwestlich von Medellín. Von dort hat man einen spektakulären Blick über die Bergkette Los Farallones del Citara, welche Höhen von bis zu 3.900 m erreicht. Angebaut wird dort unter anderem die Varietät Colombian Castillo welche sich als sehr resistent gegenüber zahlreichen Pflanzenkrankheiten erwiesen hat. Darüber hinaus gibt es auf der Hacienda verschiedene Micro Lots, verschiedene Aufbereitungsverfahren wie z. B. Honey Process und auch ungewaschenen natural aufbereiteten Rohkaffee. Knapp 60 Farmarbeiter sind während der Erntezeit mit dem Pflücken der Kaffeekirschen beschäftigt.
