About This Coffee

Serving about 650 family farms in the Yirgacheffe region, Ajere Mill is managed by Birhanmeskel Aberra. On average, each family has about two hectares of land for growing coffee as a cash crop as well as other food crops to eat. The coffee is sun dried on raised drying beds for approximately 12-15 days, where they are raked constantly during the daytime to ensure an even drying process. The coffee is also covered from 12 - 3 PM as protection from the hot midday sun and at night to avoid rain and moisture.
